Alisa and Albert wanted a little bit of water and a little bit of green for their engagement pictures, so we hopped back up to Malibu for our session with them last week.  A peek at our afternoon...

One of the best things about our job is showing up on the wedding day and seeing the vision we've heard our couples talk about come to life.  Katie and Bragi knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding - intimate, organic and happy - and they more than pulled it off.  Held at Katie's sister's beautiful Brentwood home, the day was coordinated by Stacy Porras.  We loved working with Stacy! The breathtaking flowers were by Fleuretica, a new favorite of ours, and the cake (topped with pine cones from the ski resort where Katie and Bragi got engaged) was by Cake Divas.

How funny is it that we had JUST posted an Etsy pick about moss initials, only to show up and find these on the door?  We knew the day was off to a good start!

Being the cat lovers that we are, Bragi pulling a photo of their two kitties out of this pocket as the ceremony was begining was one of the sweetest things we've ever seen at a wedding.

Katie and Bragi didn't want many posed photos, so we kept it very short and sweet - just about five minutes alone with the two of them after some quick family portraits.

Instead of doing a bouquet toss, Katie gave her flowers to her mom.

Our engagement session in Malibu with Mary and Brian was one of our most amusing shoots ever.  The reasons why aren't exactly PG enough for our little family friendly blog, so I won't go into detail, but suffice it to say we inadvertently had Mary and Brian looking at not one but TWO wildly inappropriate scenes going on behind us while we were shooting.  Whoops!

Anyway, Mary and Brian are so great.  We can't wait for their laughter - filled wedding in October!

We had the pleasure of meeting up with Kamden & Micah last weekend at the San Juan Capistrano train station for their engagement session. It was our first time meeting Micah and we weren't surprised to discover that he is as nice and sweet as Kamden is - they are a perfect match!

Suzanne and John are one of the most joyful couples and we had the pleasure of celebrating their marriage with them and their families in what was a truly lovely day. We started the day with Suzanne at her parents' house where all the ladies were getting ready. Sandra, Suzanne's BFF and MOH, did Suzanne's make-up. Suzanne & Sandra have been best friends even longer than me & Lindsey!

The guys got ready at Suzanne and John's house, which was literally just across the street from the church!

Suzanne and John's reception was at the fabulous Rococo Room in Pasadena. The Old Town area has long been a favorite of ours for engagment sessions and we were thrilled to photograph Suzanne and John's wedding portraits there! Also, Suzanne and John had a chance to get in a dress rehearsal for their long anticipated first dance. It was a show stopper!

Instead of kissing when glasses were clinked, Suzanne and John turned it back on their guests: "If you want the Bride and Groom to kiss, sing a song of love and bliss!" The guests took it and ran with it - nearly everyone in the room sang a song! Needless to say, there were lots of laughs and lots of kissing...

Then Suzanne and John surprised their guests with a second dance!

Congratulations, Suzanne and John! What a happy day!
