We're so happy to have Casey & Clay's beautiful Calamigos Ranch wedding featured in the new issue of The Knot Southern California!

We had a fabulous day with Melis and Volkan, who were married on May 30th at the Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. Everything about this wedding was beautiful, from Melis's jaw droppingly stunning wedding gown, to the beautiful pink light that illuminated the reception, to (most importantly!) the sheer joy Melis and Volkan and their friends and family seemed to be feeling all day.

We started the day with Melis and Volkan as they were getting ready at one of our favorite hotels, The Huntley in Santa Monica.  When Melis pulled her gown out of the bag, April and I nearly squealed with delight. A super gorgeous dress and a super happy bride to wear it!

After they were dressed, we arranged for Melis to wait in front of this awesome mirror for Volkan to get his first peek at her.

To me, nothing beats pictures of post-ceremony happiness!

Melis had her bridesmaids and girlfriends sign the bottom of her shoe before the reception.  Whichever name rubbed off the most by the end of the reception would be the next one to marry...

Melis was our most enthusiastic bouquet thrower ever.  We could probably do a whole blog post of just pictures of her getting ready to throw it!

And her twin sister, Melda, caught it!  We're hoping maybe that means we'll be hired to fly to Turkey to shoot Melda's wedding someday. ;)

We couldn't have had a more perfect day for Kathleen & Jeff's wedding at the Temecula Creek Inn. Beautiful light and a gentle breeze make these photographers very, very happy!

Kathleen wore a Jenny Lee gown and veil with Stuart Weizman shoes. Kathleen and Jenny Lee actually worked together to design a custom train for Kathleen's dress. Isn't it amazing?!

At our most recent couple of weddings (which we can't wait to show you SOON!), we've had a lot of fun playing with the brides' veils, which got us thinking about veils in general.  We love them! They are such a great costume piece on the wedding day, and make for really beautiful, dramatic photographs - especially when they catch a little wind, which we've been lucky to have the last couple of weeks.

These veils by Rohm are lovely.

We spent the afternoon in Hollywood with Annie, Kenny and their dog, Hiro, for a super fun engagement session. With so many cool walls and alleys and great light, we could have shot all day. Or, until the sun went down...which we pretty much did!
