Where Oh Where Have We Gone?
There's a very fun reason why posting has been sparse here on the Sweet Monday blog: We've been hard at work on our brand new (and quite pretty, if we do say so ourselves) website! Along with the website will come a shiny new blog. Both should be ready very soon, and we can't wait to show them to you!
In the meantime, come join us on Facebook!
Best,
Lindsey & April
Kamden & Micah - Married at Rancho Capistrano
Kamden & Micah are just the sweetest and we were so honored to be part of their very special wedding day. They were married at the South Shores Church by Micah's father who is the pastor there. Kamden & Micah are very blessed to be loved and supported by so many wonderful family & friends. The day just glowed and Lindsey & I felt so honored to document this day for them.
Speaking of glowing...The day started out with some of the best getting ready light ever which is why you'll now see about 5 pictures of Kamden getting into her dress. We just couldn't help ourselves!

The girls were all so excited to walk down the aisle!

The reception was at Rancho Capistrano which is one of the first locations we ever photographed. It's so pretty...and hooray for vibrant flowers. We love color!

Congratulations, Kamden & Micah! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of such an amazing day!
Introducing Roman!
We are so thrilled that many of our brides & grooms are now having babies and we are super honored when we get to photograph these new little additions. Ellen & Lee have become friends of ours since their wedding in 2007. We photographed a maternity session with them back in March and we were so excited to finally get to meet their sweet Roman just a few weeks ago! Isn't he the cutest?!

I think Roman looks so much like his dad in this one!

Congratulations, Ellen & Lee! We're so happy for you!
Alisa & Albert - Married at Inner-City Arts
Albert and Alisa put together such a fun wedding -- The first wedding EVER to be held at Inner-City Arts in downtown Los Angeles. Inner-City Arts is an incredible organization that was created to give LAUSD students who have had art cut from their school's budget an opportunity to still benefit from all that the arts have to offer. They offer kids from from 32 local elementary schools the chance to take classes in visual art, dance, drama and ceramics, just to name a few. Alisa and Albert live in Northern California now, but when they were teaching in LA, they both brought their students to Inner-City Arts. Such a cool place, and the perfect setting for two teachers to be married! Their wedding day was filled with lots of laughter and lots of yummy food (That's our kind of wedding!). In addition to sundae and taco bars at the reception, they also had Hula Girls Shave Ice during their cocktail hour. The perfect thing for a summer day!

We peeked in on Alisa and Albert as they were getting ready for their first glimpse of each other.

Some pre-ceremony treats - Which we got to eat so that they wouldn't stain Alisa's dress. Lucky us!

Flowers by Creative Floral Designs:

Albert's sister performed the ceremony and she did a wonderful job! Everyone was laughing throughout.

We could have photographed in this classroom all day!

Party time in the black box theatre!

Congratulations, Alisa and Albert! Thanks for having us as part of your delicious day!
